AE86 WORLD | Milton’s Clean SR5

Spread the love

Hey AE86 World fans, what better way to start 2018 than us showing off Milton Navarro’s super clean SR5 from Las Vegas, Nevada. I shot this AE86 back in October and due to some fairly substantial procrastination (one of my biggest flaws) you guys are only seeing it now!

This particular model is a 1985 Trueno SR5 that currently retains the 4AC but has the GTS LSD rear end and a MR2 manual steering rack. One thing I love about the AE86 is that 99.5% of owners have a story of how they came to own or just how much they love this particular chassis. Milton is no exception:

My love for the 8/6 began in high school like many kids. I had seen the car before in various drift videos and later found out my dad owned one before one of his friends totaled it. The 8/6 was one of those cars that I thought I’d never own but over time my obsession became stronger and I could not wait much longer.

When I came back home for summer break from college the urge to buy an 8/6 resurfaced and my obsession heightened. I searched high and low all over Craiglist to find the perfect 8/6 just to find beat up over priced projects. But fate had other plans and my amazing girlfriend found me my perfect 8/6 in Seattle.

When I contacted the seller he was only interested in selling locally. But after convincing him to sell it my journey buying my 86 began. I booked a rent-a-car, hotel, and 3500 dollars that my awesome mother let me borrow. So then my family and I drove 16 hours to Seattle.

Once we got there the 8/6 was in decent condition although it needed some work but I saw beyond that and I happily gave him the money. The trailer picked my car up and I had to wait 3 days to receive the car.

Afterwards the car sat for a couple of month slowly buying some parts here and there. I brought the car 86fest for the first time last year with some of my good friends from NVHachi and we had a blast. My love for the car was solidified.

Future plans for the 8/6 include a 20v Silver top swap, roll cage, Bride seats, and other misc things that will make my car perfect for me

At AE86 World we’ll be keeping a close eye on Milton’s progress and make sure you give him a follow in Instagram @milton_ae86!
