TEC-ART’S AE86 Levin 2-Door

Spread the love

If you’re in any way into AE86’s then you’ll certainly know the name TEC-ART’S. Located in Yashio, Saitama, Japan this famous Tuning Shop is run by the Kamata family, and boy are they good at making some seriously cool cars!

Perhaps most known for their N2 Race Car build, TEC-ART’s are indeed a Shop that specializes in the legendary Toyota. They do occasionally turn their hands to several other models though, such as Nissans, Alfa Romeo and other Classics. In recent years though the TEC-ART’s crew have been building alot of stunning road cars, as their customer base grows bigger and bigger!

Drifting has grown from strength to strength the last 20+ years, and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down! TEC-ART’s specialize in Tuning for the customer’s needs, be it Track, Street, Grip, or Drift. This particular AE86 LEVIN you see is a Drift car that’s still road legal and not afraid to get pushed to the limits at the nearby Nikko Circuit. Running a unique Silver Carbon Origin bonnet, Full TEC-ART’s Special Aero kit, and Flared Arches all round, it hugs the road and sits so good on the WORK Equip 03 Wheels. Being a Drift car it has an array of Suspension upgrades, including the TEC-ART’s Type RG Coilover Kit, Upgraded Bushings, Tierods, Steering Knuckles, Lateral Rod, and Strut Braces.

Interior is Function Over Form, but compared to alot of other Drift cars, it’s still very tidy! You can tell this car is still used on the street. The Rear area is stripped bare with a Full Roll Cage. However the Front keeps some comforts in the way of Door Card Panels, Passenger Seat, Full Dashboard, and a JURAN Racing Seat with Sabelt Harness. Greddy Gauges are mounted in the TEC-ART’s Dashboard Housing, keeping an eye on Water temp, Oil temp, and Oil Pressure!

Lastly, the Heart of this AE86, could be no other than a trusty 4AG. The popular 20v swap from AE111 Levin/Trueno now uses a Direct Ignition Kit, Aluminium Pulley’s, TEC-ART’s Velocity Stacks, TypeF Manifold and Street Exhaust System. The ECU Management of choice at TEC-ART’s is MOTEC M4, Mapped by Kamata-San it produces a very healthy 182 ps. Mated to a REVOLVER Cross Transmission and 4.3 Final Gear in a TRD LSD, it’s a very well Tuned car, capable of tearing up any Track, when not cruising around the streets at the weekend!

At the time of writing, this AE86 was For Sale at TEC-ART’s, but I’ve just been informed by Kamata-San it’s now Sold. Not to worry though, there will be plenty more, and you can be sure to read more about them here!
